New private school construction project: €16 million investment and obtained construction permit

In July 2024, a construction permit was granted for the new 6000 square meter Šiaurės Licėjus school building in the Didžioji Riešė district, 51A Vanaginės Street, Vilnius. The school plans to open its doors to students in the fall of 2025. This will be the second Šiaurės Licėjus school in Lithuania. The first school currently operates and will continue to operate in the center of Vilnius, where 600 children study and more than 100 staff work.

The new Šiaurės Licėjus is being constructed on a 2-hectare plot of land in a residential area near the main road to Molėtai. The school and its surroundings aim to create a safe and friendly environment, with attention given to the safety of surrounding streets and ensuring community convenience, so that children can arrive at school on their own, on foot, by bicycle, or scooter.

“The Šiaurės Licėjus follows nordic education principles, one of the most important of which is community spirit, as the school is created together by the entire community: students, their parents, and teachers. The architecture of the new school is also focused on fostering community spirit. The school is planned to be built in three stages, with the first phase opening to elementary school students and kindergarten for 180 children aged 1.5 to 5 years. Thus, over several years, the school will grow into a high school,” says Eglė Sidorova, Business Manager of the Šiaurės Licėjus.

The family office Taurus Wealth is responsible for the project’s financing, structure, and implementation.

“Investing in education continues to be among the priority investment areas for Taurus Wealth. Lithuanian investors are keen to support investments in education, understanding that their capital contributes to the social well-being and future of our society. This encourages us to continue developing our projects in this area,” says Karolis Ražukas, Head of Investment Projects at Taurus Wealth.
